The Royal Maritime Club is a 100 bedroom Hotel with extensive banqueting and leisure facilities. Situated close to Portsmouth’s historic dockyard, the Club has charitable status and is steeped in Navy history.
Originally founded in 1851 to provide men of the Royal Navy, on returning from long periods at sea, with a safe and respectable place to stay before their onward journey home.
It has since evolved into a venue with first class facilities, not only for the Royal Navy and other military personnel, but also for the general public.
We are licensed for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, and have numerous banqueting and event suites, which include a ballroom accommodating up to 400 people. Many parts of our facilities and services already meet the standard of a 3* Hotel, however, after only recently installing telephones in our bedrooms, we are confident in achieving our 3* accreditation later this year.
With over 80 staff employed at the Club, we now have a number of great opportunities for experienced, qualified and enthusiastic people to join our team:
HOUSEKEEPING STAFF (part-time)
BAR & RESTAURANT STAFF (full-time and part-time)
For the senior roles, you should have relevant Hotel Management qualifications, and have had a minimum of 3 years experience of working at senior management level in all the key areas of a 3* hotel. You will need strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate staff whilst implementing change and directing ongoing service advancements. Combined with the highest technical and operational standards, good organisation skills, and the ability and experience to develop and maximise sales and profit.
The full-time positions will require flexible working hours, including some evenings and weekends. Part-time positions will include shift working, again with evening and weekend work.
